July 2 &3, Day 2 &3 at the Hospital. The Littles Meet

At about 11:00 a.m.  Grandma Gamble and Keppi brought the boys.  When they came in, Cody was ready to hold the Baby.  Decker, when asked said, "no thank you" and went and sat on the window seat and watched from afar.

Our first family picture

She started sucking on her fingers right away.  She's got some good suction!

Grandma Gamble and Baby Kaylie...so glad she was here to meet her newest grand daughter.

Baby Kaylie was sticking her tongue in and out of her mouth.  Cody was so into everything she was doing.  He mimicked her tongue action.

Then Decker came and asked if he could hold her now.  He climbed up on the bed and was so gentle with her.  He kept saying she's so cute!  Since then, he says things like "she's the cutest in our family." and the most beautiful baby.  He also said in addition to Kaylie, "kittens are cute too."
A picture of my swollen feet...I call them my Elephant Feet.
Time with Auntie K....girl bonding time!
This is Lilly Beth.  She and Decker share the same birthday.  She assisted on Decker and Cody's circumcision and became a friend.  We were so happy to see her.  We asked if she was working when we checked in the day before...but she wasn't...so we were glad to have a visit from her for Kaylie's birth.  She brought a little teddy bear, a lamb lovie and Seattle truffles for us to enjoy.  She is such a sweet woman.  We invited her to Kaylie's blessing and it seemed that she would like to attend.
Decker also entertained himself with the Dr.'s chair and dad's boots.

My handsome hubby!
Me and my mom...The boys came in with a couple of balloons--this one says "Feeling Ruff?"  "Get well Soon" and it has a little dog on it.
The first diaper change...Mike's in charge
Grandma Nickie and baby Kaylie

Our nurses...such a fine team!  They all thought Kaylie was the cutest...they said our baby was being talked about in the hall amongst all the nurses...."did you see the baby in room 52?"
They were so kind....they allowed the boys to be a part of her care...they heard the heartbeat...

Even I got to hear it.
Then she took their temperatures.

Decker is liking this big brother fun...

I finally got out of bed and stood on my legs.  The bed is starting to get uncomfortable.

Then they came and did the hearing test.  They play sounds and watch the brain reactions for a response.
She passed!
This was my nurse the first day Tammy.. She was my labor and delivery nurse.  She worked with me in all different positions trying to get baby Kaylie out. She was so patient and helpful. Told me and Mike just what to do.  We also learned she was LDS as we were talking about doing genealogy and temples and other various "mormon" topics.
I am loving watch the adoration coming out from her older brothers.
On Friday, August 3rd, the boys came and we planned on a bath.  Since the hospital now waits for 24 hours to bathe the babies because keeping the amniotic fluid on them is good for them.  we had a nurse named Ali Brineg bathe her.  She recognized Keppi.  Her mom used to babysit Mike and the other boys.  Kaylie liked the bath.

then we dressed Kaylie in her first outfit.  I brought 3 or 4 different options.  We chose a sweet white with pink and purple flowers.
Me and Ali...
