Squirell in the house???

We were missing our camera's memory stick and downloader for the laptop one day....

A few days later I noticed this out of the corner of my eye...

A little stash in our fireplace:

Brown Bear book,Thomas the Train, Wooden Toy screw driver and screw, Spiderman action figure, Camera memory stick, Memory stick downloader for computer, Tennis ball

Since then, I've caught him putting his blanket, and "Baaa" his stuffed sheep in there.

This is "Baaaa" Decker is putting him to sleep with his Buzz pillow and Blanket.

A couple of other things he's done lately...when we were walking through the airport on our way back from Las Vegas, he had Woody his doll and he was "walking" him down the breezeway towards baggage claim. He got some looks and giggles as we went by.

Decker's latest phrase is "Oh, Wow" He says it quite a bit. One of the first times was when I made snickerdoodles on Sunday. I told him that I made cookies. He said, "oh wow"! Which is true...I don't bake cookies very often...and his other phrase is when he asks us questions and after answering, he says "Oh". It just cracks us up. We're starting to hear ourselves coming out of our little guy.

2 YEAR CHECK UP

Decker had his two year check up last week. Our pediatrician was booked way out so he's actually 26 months old now.
His Stats:
Weight: 25 lbs 10 oz 10 - 25%
Height: 34 in. 25%
Body Mass index 15.5 25%

He's stayed with his same growth pattern since he was born and continues to grow. We've been noticing his pants getting shorter and shorter. :)

Some items that I've meant to write about and have not:

He used to generalize terms like when he calls the Quaker Oats guy "Grandpa" when we'd make oatmeal in the morning.
This past week, we went to drop off my sewing machine for a tune up and Decker sat next to the lady helping us. He leaned way over so he could look into her eyes and said, "Hi, I Decker." She thought he said Tucker, but that's beside the point...he introduced himself to a complete stranger and then continued to educate her on what Buzz Lightyear says..."To infinity and Beyond, Buzz"
He did it again today at the store. I'm just amazed at how social he is being without any coaxing.
He is obsessed with Toy Story. If you ask him what does Buzz say? He answers, "To infinity and Beyond"
Woody-"You've got a friend in me"
Jesse--"Yeehah"

Decker calls his tummy a baby. He calls Daddy's tummy a baby. I think he realizes there is something different about mommy's baby. He loves to put his bare tummy up to my bare tummy or daddy's bare tummy. He kisses my tummy and gives it zerberts and is very gentle. Today my tummy was growling and making digesting noises. I told him it was the baby inside. That just cracked him up. We sat there for a few minutes listening and laughing.
Probably 4-5 months ago, I was getting after Decker for doing something and I started to count to 3 to get him to do something. I started, "one, and he finished with "two", I couldn't count any further, because it shocked me so much that he knew what came next. It just made me laugh!
We've been working on the alphabet, colors and numbers. "B" was the first letter he recognized. Now he can point out "O, M, K and Y" For his colors, he recognizes red, blue, green, white and sometimes yellow. For numbers, he can count up to 10 and recognize 1, 2, 4 and 5. It's just been a joy to see him progress in all his ablilities, intellectually, mentally and physically.

He runs where ever he goes. If I let him climb in the car by himself, he doesn't go straight to his carseat...the driver's seat is where it's at. So as I walk around the car to get him from the driver's seat he runs over to the passenger side and when I start going that way, he goes back to the driver's side. It's quite the game to him...and I'm a little tired of playing it. My "baby" is just getting too big to be chasing him all around. :)
He's been putting sentences together lately too. It used to be that he would point to everyone's car and name who they belonged to. Now he says mommy car, or daddy car. There are too many examples to write, but another of my favorites is, "Here you go". and when I was in Alaska, Decker said, "mommy, up up up, sky." His way of saying that I got in an airplane and went to Alaska.
He doesn't call the church a temple anymore. He calls it church and the steeple a steeple. He knows that daddy works on boats for work. When I tell him daddy is at work, he says boats.

His favorite breakfast foods that he requests are either eggs or oatmeal.
I'm sure I'll remember more things that I'd like to write down after I post this...I'm going to try to make a better effort in writing things that he says and keeping more on top of it.
We sure love this little guy....and guess what? Only 22 days to go...Baby will be here. :)

And just because I love these photos:

Theatrics?

I catch Decker getting into my things in my bathroom every once in awhile when one of us forgets to close the door.. Here's just a couple...
He knows just what to do with mascara...maybe not for the lips...

Putting on my blush and he also likes to put on
my deoderant.

Happy 4 years!

Yep that's Right, I'm holding up 4 fingers! One for each of the fabulous years we've been married!
We decided we'd be tourists in Seattle for a day. Grandma Wood took Decker from Friday to Saturday night and Mike and I visited a couple of great attractions in Seattle.

The Underground Tour, Pikes Place Market and Ride the Ducks.

The Seattle Underground Tour was fascinating.

Early Seattle was dominated by the logging industry. Because of the easy access to lumber, nearly every building was constructed of wood. Additionally, because the area was at or below sea level, Seattle was a frequent victim of floods, requiring buildings to be built on wooden stilts. The town also used hollowed out scrap logs propped up on wooden braces as sewer and water pipes, contributing to what could be described as a firetrap. In 1889, 25 city blocks were consumed, caused by a fire where a man was heating glue that boiled over onto the gasoline fire that was heating it in a cabinet shop. After this fire, where amazingly no one was killed, they rebuilt Seattle on top of the old. I'm taking a rest here...

Mike and an old bathroom and the wooden log pipes that ran sewer through the streets of Seattle.
We walked on the old sidewalks from 1889 found under the streets of Seattle today. this is looking up from under the Seattle streets. And this is from on top of the the Seattle Sidewalk today.

Then we walked from Pioneer Square up to Pikes Place Market. I had been there one other time with my mom when I first moved here back in 2001. We ran into a street entertainer with his parrot. One of the tricks that this parrot knew, was how to play dead. This gave my mom the idea to teach her parrot the same trick. Here's a link to a youtube video of me and Tommy...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKORym4BTfc I had my eyes peeled for someone doing tricks with his parrot but we didn't run into any...

This is the very first Starbucks, Located in Pikes Place Market. Long line just to get in and place your order. We took a break out on the lawn for a bit...Couldn't have asked for a nicer day!
Then to finish off our day, we Rode the Ducks. These are amphibious vehicles that are modeled after the DUKW's that were used during World War II. They run on both land and water. So they drive you around downtown pointing out interesting historical facts about Seattle and then they take you onto Lake Union for a spin. The captains are well trained in both safety and hilarity. Ours was very entertaining and made the ride so fun.
The Duck
The house from Sleepless in Seattle...bought a few years ago at $600,000, now, estimated value: 1.7 million...nice little investment! We had a great time and look forward to many more good times in the years to come! Love you!!
