Camping Memorial Day Weekend 2011

It's that time of year again. Time to bring out the camper trailer and head to Carnation. Our home away from home. Unlike last year, we had perfect weather...no rain, except at night when we were nice and cozy in our trailer. We started out with our foil dinners...YUM!Of course we had to roast hot dogs, a family favorite. This little pack n play kept Cody safe, while we were busy maintaining and putting up our campsite.

Just waiting for dinner to be done...

Decker loves his apples...

This is the cool suspension bridge at the park. Decker collected some rocks to throw off the bridge into the river. This became his favorite activity.I think Cody's eating a chip or pancake...

Grandma Wood came to hang out in the evenings...Gotta get some Cody and Decker time. :) And of course, a WELL cooked Hot Dog.

Hanging out at the campfire...

Something's making him smile...I love his little bottom teeth...

We decided to get a little wet. After watching Dad take off his shoes, Decker wants to follow in his bare footsteps...

We found this snail and Decker decided to collect some flower food for it. The snail just hurried on home though....no time to eat...

Love my boys!

Decker liked THROWING the Rocks...

Cody liked EATING the rocks...

Family pic in the CAMO...

Can you see the water spewing from Decker's mouth? Yes, that is River water...

Decker hitched a ride on the stroller. ;)

Decker learned to pedal his bike this week. He really wanted Woody to ride with him on the seat, but he kept falling off, so Decker had to just hold him...

Safe inside the trailer...wanting to come out....

It was a great 3 nights and 3 days away...can't wait till our next camping trip...Thanks Mike for all you do to make our camping comfortable and fun!

9 month pictures July 10, 2011

Took Cody and Decker for the Doctor, Cody's 9 month and Decker's 3 year appointments. Decker kept telling me, "I'm not getting a shot, Cody is getting a shot." He was right, no boosters for him, but it was pretty funny, he was very confident that he wasn't going to get a shot. :)

Cody's stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 5 - 10%

Height: 50%

The doctor said his weight has dipped again instead of going up. She suggested to keep feeding him foods high in fat like avocados, bananas, yogurt etc.

Cody has had one allergic reaction...he ended up with a rash on his stomach and back. not sure what caused it...milk in the macaroni and cheese he ate? strawberry bite...not sure

His eating habits are changing. It's really hard to nurse him these days. He is very active and excited by anything going on around him.

Grandma affectionately called him the "human tornado". If you'r holding him facing you, he wants to face out, if you're holding him facing out he wants to turn towards you, so it is a continuous turning on your lap. Changing his diaper and getting him dressed are no longer an easy feat. He is constantly turning and squirming away. It can be very frustrating. But he just laughs like it's all a game!

Getting pictures with the monkey is hard too, cause he loves to kiss and hug the monkey, so to get him to just side by side with the monkey's not happening!

Cody is very playful. He loves to stand unassisted. He's letting go all the time and then gives me a huge grin, because he knows he's doing something awesome.

He loves to shake things while standing: balloons, kitchen towels, clothes, blankets, anything he can wave. He loves to do this.

He has about 6 teeth trying to break through in the last couple of months. A few days ago, his top left front tooth finally broke through the gums. More are coming in. It has left him a not so happy mood for the past month.

CARS 2 June 27, 2011

On our last full day in Las Vegas, we all went to see Cars 2 with Leah and Alex's family, Mike and Alison's family. We saw it 3D style. Decker and Cody slept through the majority of the film. It was great being there with all the cousins!
I have to say I was a little disappointed in the plot...a little hard for young kids to follow...

Happy Fourth of July!

We got up early to go to the ward breakfast at the church. As we pulled into the parking lot, Decker said, "mom, I forgot my tie." Too cute! Mike helped cook in the morning. Red, White and Blue Pancakes ( strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream), hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, sausage and orange juice. YUM! Cody loved the Blueberries!

We brought Decker's bike for him to ride in the parade around the church. There were tons of paraders --bikes, golf carts, wagons, big wheels, roller bladers, strollers, scooters. It was awesome!

Then we went back home to try our luck having a Garage Sale. We made $10.00. We started pretty late in the day and it was the Fourth of July. But it was real relaxing. Our friends, Heath, Nancy and Steve came over to help set up and pass the time and then we BBQ'd steaks. YUM! It was a very relaxing Fourth. We lit off a few fireworks in the front yard and Mike brought his cannon over and set it off a couple of times.

At about 9:00 we drove out to Monroe to watch the fireworks show outside the stadium. We found the perfect spot and parked. We laid on the hood of our car. The fireworks didn't start till after 10:00. But there was plenty of fireworks going on all around us. It was quite amazing. Cody loved watching the beautiful lights. Decker kept asking to get into the car.

I held Cody the whole time which I thouroughly enjoyed. He snuggled right into my chest and rested as he watched the fireworks. He stayed awake for the whole time and just snuggled. I hold him all the time to feed him, comfort him, etc, but it's not very often that this very busy little 9 month old will just let me hold him and snuggle, and for over an hour! I loved it. It was a perfect ending to our day.
