Christmas Tree Ring story August 2014 revisiting to December 2005

In cleaning out Mike's mom's house, we found a treasure. Back in July 2005, I met Mike.  At Christmas time, I went with Mike and his friend, Heath Mason to cut down a Christmas tree for his mom. I then took one of the branches off of this beautiful Douglas fir and took it home with me to Las Vegas for the Christmas break. My mom and dad helped me drimell a hole through the branch to make this ring. I did not give it to Mike until he asked me to marry him on March 10th, 2006 more than 3 months later... but at Christmas time, I felt in my heart that he was the one. We lost track of the ring and didn't know it still existed. We thought it might have been thrown away in our move. However, yesterday we came across this beautiful little thing made from that Christmas tree back in 2005 almost 9 years later. So happy to find it again!

November pics

Cody loves to "shave" like daddy.  I find him in the bathroom a lot playing with the "body wash shaving cream"  that we got for Father's day.  I'll be glad it's gone one day.  :)
For Cody's birthday, Grandpa Bob sent him $20.00.  Instead of buying a book at Costco--one of their favorite things to do, we went to Value Village.  This is what we came home with.  He bought a Harry Potter puzzle and a leaning game about the planets for Decker, a Book about dinosaurs, a Disney storybook, a game called Cut the Rope--a lot like Connect 4, a Star Wars gun and a gumball machine.  They had a blast shopping together!
November 4th--We took a pregnancy test.  Looks like we will be adding another baby to our family. YAY!!!  Mike told his boss at work first.  Then he started telling all his family.  I wanted to hold off for a bit to tell anyone...  A couple of weeks later I heard a new song by Garth Brooks called "Mom".  I sent a link to my family to listen to him perform it on Good Morning America without telling them the news.  Mike G was the first to respond and said he liked the song...then I told him the news as to why I sent it.  ;)  Eventually, I told everyone else.  ;)
Here's our front porch at Halloween before I took everything down. The pumpkins came from our garden.

My Origami Owl set up with the new dishes.
Then for a Relief Society activity, I was asked to create a centerpiece for a dinner.  I had some fun with our pumpkins and GLITTER!
Mike decided to do MOVEMBER.  Where men don't shave for a month to help raise awareness to Men's Health issues.  This was taken day 25.  The itchiness is starting to subside and he's starting to like it.
Lyrics to "Mom" by Garth Brooks
Little baby told God, hey I'm kind of scared.
Don't really know if I want to go down there.
From here it looks like a little blue ball
That's a great big place and I'm so small.
Why can't I just, stay here with you?
Did I make you mad, don't you want me too?
God said oh child, of course I do
But there's somebody special waiting for you
So hush now baby, don't you cry
'Cause there's someone down there waiting whose only goal in life
Is making sure you're always gonna be alright
A loving angel tender, tough and strong
It's almost time to go and meet your mom.
You'll never have a better friend
Or a warmer touch to tuck you in
She'll kiss your bruises, your bumps and scrapes
And anytime you hurt
Her heart's gonna break
So hush now baby, don't you cry
'Cause there's someone down there waiting whose only goal in life
Is making sure you're always gonna be alright
A loving angel tender, tough and strong
It's almost time to go and meet your mom.
And when she's talking to you make sure you listen close
'Cause she's gonna teach you everything you'll ever need to know
Like how to mind your manners, to love and laugh and dream
She'll put you on the path that bring you back to me
So, hush now little baby, don't you cry
'Cause there's someone down there waiting whose only goal in life
Is making sure you're always gonna be alright
A loving angel tender, tough and strong
Come on child it's time, to meet your mom

Decker's Halloween Party October 31, 2014, Trick or treating

On Halloween night, we went to the Halloween House.  they had a creepy girl swinging on this swing this year.  We didn't do the mummies tonight...just put on some easy costumes.

Then I went to Decker's Halloween party at school.  This is a shield that Decker made in his art class.  He put awesome fluffy feathers on it.

They had different stations,  cookie decorating, coloring, Making bead necklaces, putting your hands inside a pumpkin and feeling eyeballs, brains and intestines.  Really gross!  I even tried it.

 Taylyn as Elsa!

Walking to the bus stop on Halloween morning it was rainy.  Cody was really excited about his new umbrella from his birthday.  Decker was --to me--a Top Gun and to him, he was from the Planes movie.

October pictures 2014

We went for a bike ride and we found this woolly caterpillar.

Cody rode on the tag along for the first time.  He really got the hang of it and loved it!

We scored this trampoline on Freecycle.  It'll be a great energy releaser during the rainy winter months.  The boys still love jumping on it every day.
Just some snuggle time for the brothers.  Love it!
