Smudging Our Home Feb 21, 2010

One of our good friends offered to come over and smudge our home with Sage to get out all the bad feelings and negativity that this home has experienced. We walked through each room and did all the corners.
The way smudging works is "the smoke attaches itself to negative energy and as the smoke clears, it takes the negative energy with it, releasing it into another space where it will be regenerated into positive energy."
She noticed some bad feelings in the kitchen. I jokingly said they were probably mine since the garbage disposal wasn't currently working. :) She felt some negative vibes in several places in the house, but felt they were gone by the time she was done.

She also shared some Feng Shui with me and the set up of our home.
  • The master bedroom is in the right corner of the home--being the happiness space. Woo Hoo! ;)
  • Our wealth/prosperity corner is where our office will be located--so good news there too!
  • There is good ventilation from the front door and back windows. It's not a straight shot to bring all the good air in and then just have it disappear out the back door or windows when they're open.
  • At Work:
Our Backyard. We walked around the whole perimeter to make sure nothing was left untouched.

Thanks Laurie! It was both educational and fun having you over!

Grandma Wood's House; June 12th

Here's some more photos at Grandma Wood's.
Reinacting the statue that's at the Seattle Temple...except on a bicycle. He can't quite reach the pedals yet, all he needs is a good push and some downhill. :) Decker and Kaya

Uncle James put this swing up a couple of years ago. Decker's first ride. HOLD ON TIGHT!!Sidenote: We cut Decker's beautiful long locks on May 5th so he's had spiky hair for the last month or so. Decker likes to touch his hair when it's sticking up and likes to check it out in the mirror. Sometimes we do his hair just like Daddy does his. ;)

Family Pictures...

Decker and I are both surprised about something...don't remember though! ;)

This video is of Decker on the swing with Daddy.

Father's Day 2010

Father's Day this year was a SICK one. All Three of us are under the weather with a bad cough in the chest. Mike went to the doctor and got a prescription for antibiotics to clear out the infection.
We took Decker to the pediatrician and the Dr. didn't seem too concerned since it hasn't affected his appetite or disposition, or caused him to have a fever or other symptoms. It's been educational.
Since I'm pregnant, I just try to grin and bear it. ;)
So, for the day, we stayed at home all day. I was awoken at about 5:00 a.m. to little Decker tossing and turning in his bed so I got up to check on him. He felt really hot like he had a fever, so I gave him a glass of water and I thought, I ought to give him something to eat before I give him Tylenol on an empty stomach, so I gave him some crackers. Not 5 minutes later, he threw all that up. So we got in the bathtub to clean up and cool off a little. After that, Decker was so sleepy, so I put him back in bed. We then all slept in till 10:30. I got up a little earlier than that and made Breakfast for my boys in bed. Bacon, Eggs, Waffles and Orange Juice.

Then we set up our bed pad downstairs and put on Toy Story 2 and fell asleep watching Woody and Buzz--Decker's latest favorite characters--not that he's ever seen the movie or anything...he likes them because they are on his Pull ups. :)
We got some good rest today and just hung out together as a family. Hopefully the sickness will leave our home soon! My cute Boys!!
Happy Father's Day Mike! You're the best!
WE LOVE YOU AND APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO FOR OUR FAMILY!

Memorial Day Camping

We've gone camping for the last 4 years in a row over Memorial Day. The last 3 have been at Tolt McDonald Park in Carnation WA. This year we went with a family in our new ward. Crystal, Gordon and their 4 year old daughter Kylee.

We had a great time despite the rain every day. Our little camper trailer kept us nice and dry and cozy...at night anyway...

We did have a break for about 4 hours on Sunday when the rain stopped. we took advantage of this time and rode our bikes over to the big toy and had some fun playing. The boys did tricks, they rolled down the wet hill, Decker collected rocks and sticks, and we took pictures.

The Hunt family
The Woods....I'm 4 1/2 months pregnant...:)
Decker loving his Capri Sun....wish there was more sun around here...
We smoked a turkey on Saturday and it didn't disappoint. It was yummy and there was leftovers for turkey sandwiches the next day.

One of the hardest things was keeping the kids warm and dry. We had 3 pairs of shoes for Decker that we kept alternating through and he went through about 20 pairs of socks, and 10 pairs of pants! Those puddles are irresistable! He loved being out and running around. We finally broke down and ran into town to get him some Rubber Boots...Spiderman boots that glow in the dark! They were a little big and so it was hard to keep them on. But now they're his favorite shoes to put on in the morning, rain or shine.

Muddy!
His new boots...

Time for a cookie snack...

The best activity on this trip was the tandem toddler bike. (We found it at a garage sale the weekend before for $10.00!). Kylee was a trooper and pedaled Decker around the whole weekend,...except when he would get off and push her. (Decker can't quite reach the pedals yet) She had control of the pedalling, but Decker had control of a little brake handle in the back. Whenever he'd pull it, she would say, "Please don't do that!" in a very nice way. It was very amusing to us all. :)Happy, Happy kids!

That's what it's all about! What a great weekend!

When Decker says Bicycle, he addes about 6 sylabels to the word. "cycycycycle" Here's a video of him saying it. ;)

Grandma Wood's Observations

Grandma Wood had a lot to say about some of her favorite things about Decker's stops in his new home...

"I love all the things Decker does as he goes from room toi room with his points of interest:, a few curls at the corner of the kitchen island, vacuum the living room back and forth, back and forth, check whose cars are parked in the driveway and name the driver of each, sit on the couch with the soft blanket over him reading his train book saying, “go, go.go,…no, no, no”, looking for the moon on the deck, getting some gold fishies from the pantry cupboard, juice cup from the frigde, books, puzzles, big monkey, and trains in his bedroom; your home is his kingdom.

A few other stops not mentioned about Decker is in the living room; the quick ride both forwards and backwards on his green John Deere tractor or his Elmo Mobile, his bath where he posts on the tub wall alphabet letters for Wheel Of Fortune shouting E, I, A; quick trip into Mommy’s and Daddy’s bedroom to see how long it takes someone to notice, back to his bedroom removing a few more books from his bookshelf seeking his favorites; and then possibly down stairs stopping at the front door landing for shoes he might decide to wear."

Thanks grandma for writing a post for me! We love you and all you do!

It's a BOY!!

We had our 20 week appointment on May 20th and we found out what we've been waiting for!
IT'S A BOY!!
We're so excited to give Decker a little brother to watch over.
So far I've gained 9 lbs. This baby is growing like it should and is scheduled to come to our family on October 10th! 10.10.10...Wouldn't that be fun??? Though having a baby a week or two early is fun too. :) We'll just have to wait and see... ;)
Decker isn't quite clear on what's going to happen yet...he thinks everyone has a baby in their tummy....even Daddy! Now wouldn't that be something! ;)
