Happy Father's Day!

It's Father's Day!  And that means it starts out with breakfast in bed.  We found this great Mickey Mouse waffle iron at a garage sale for 3 bucks!  (Mike looked it up on ebay, and someone is selling one for over $100!  Anyways, we had yummy Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast with strawberries and whipped cream.

The boys got a cute shaving kit that comes with shaving gel that lathers up...really body wash.  They liked to rub it on their face.  Ho Ho Ho!

Decker picked out this shirt for daddy.  Decker loved it because it had Spiderman colors!

And then, of course, daddy got to take a nap...Cody too...so cute!

Decker wanted to wear his "Spiderman" colored shirt...just like dad... as we enjoyed dessert later that evening...STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE...Yum!!

Grandma and Keppi came over too...who can resist this sweetness???
Mike tried on one of his other shirts that we picked for him...it just happened to match my shirt color...not planned.  ;)  Turned out cute though...hahaha!  We love you Mike Wood!  Happy Father's day!

Our Newest addition to our family...June 22nd

Mike is one proud papa!  On the hottest and longest day of the year, so far, (It was about 88 degrees) we went up to Lake Stevens to check out a boat that Mike found on Craigslist.  We went on a test drive and found it to our liking.  We made an offer and after a little haggling, they accepted.  It was about 4:00 p.m. as we hooked it up to our Tahoe and drove away  with our new "baby".
Mike was so proud...he felt like everyone was watching him and thinking, "Wow, what a cool boat he has!  It even matches his Blue Tahoe!"  It was so fun and entertaining to see his excitement and joy with our new purchase.
It is a 1994, 6 cylinder, 18.5 foot, blue striped Chapparell.  (these are all cell phone pics)

So we quickly ran to McDonalds and got some dinner to go and headed back out onto Lake Stevens.  It was so warm and the longest day of the year so we still had plenty of sunshine.  We rode around the small Lake, topping it out and enjoying the wind in our faces.

We even stopped for a swim.  The boys were cautious at first, but soon were like little fishes.
The water felt great, even mom went for a swim!

One of Decker's favorite spots is to be at the bow of the boat.  He's King of the Lake!

Mom took it our for a spin....I've got to learn how to drive a boat.  It was pretty easy, but I was always scanning the water ahead of me, not wanting to get too close to any other boat, skiers or swimmers.
  Look at this proud papa!

One week later we took Keppi with us out on the boat again.  This time on Lake Washington.  A much larger lake.  We learned of a free boat launch in Juanita.  It was pretty busy--apparently it is well known. :)
A big inner tube was sold with the boat.  So we decided to try it out.  I went out with the boys.  We were all excited.  Then Mike started the engine and pulled us right into the water, head first.  :(  The boys no longer wanted to be on the inner tube.
We forced them back on.  We didn't want them to miss out on all the FUN!  ;)

 Keppi enjoying some sun!

We had a great time!  and guess what?  I know a boat mechanic!  ;)

Graduation! June 14th, 2013

All week I was in Bellingham working at Western WA University.  I got to come home on Thursday night so I could attend Decker's Preschool graduation on Friday morning.  In addition to that we had our friends, the Wyndams visit from Idaho.  The Schmalles came over too and we had hot dogs and burgers for dinner.  We had 5 boys and baby girl Olivia over.  The kids were in heaven.
Here the kids are walking to the classroom where the graduation ceremony would be held.

We saw this cute little car in the school parking lot.
Our little boy has grown up this past year.
This is Stephany from Decker's class.  She was excited to see Decker and gave him a hug...too cute.  Decker just let her.
Two classes were in attendance, Afternoon and Morning Preschool.
They sang some of the songs they learned over the year...

They even sang the ABC song and signed the letters to it.

Then Mrs. Franzwa called each of the children one at a time and get their Graduation certificate.

The parents made these collage pictures for each of the teachers, including pictures of the children.
Decker is the one with the red shirt in a grassy field.
Then they served cake and ice cream..It was enjoyed by all...

 Decker and Miss Shirley

Miss Shirley and Mrs. Franzwa...a final farewell...
Back to the BBQ party from the night before, (Thursday)...Dress up time...We've got two Batmans.

You might have noticed a white bandage on the back of Decker's head at the Preschool graduation...During our BBQ party with the Schmalles and Wyndams, the 5 boys were all playing together on the trampoline...we're not sure what quite happened, if Decker fell off or he tried jumping off, but he hit his head on something and so to make things a little more exciting, we went off to the emergency room at 11:00 at night.  Decker did not want anyone to look at his head or touch it for that matter...he was very sensitive to his injury.  He was anxious about getting any shots and was very aware of any tool the doctor brought out.

They put a topical to get ready for the real shot and stitches.  They then wrapped the topical filled bandage to hold it in place while it took effect.
 She was the nurse.

Then we waited for it to numb the area and get the real shot.
We read the Highlight magazine in the room to keep him distracted.
Even after the numbness was working, he was still anxious, so the Dr asked if we could give him gas...it would make him HAPPY and not care about what was going on.  So we did.  Then we put him in this fun Looney Toons gown and they cleaned his head to get ready for the stitches.
They squirted it with water to make sure there wasn't any debris in there.

 Here's our HAPPY boy.

Then, when we left, they gave him a little teddy bear with a band-aid on the back of his head....just like Decker's.  Decker named him Decker and had him dancing around and doing flips.  :)
We finally got home around 2:30 and went to bed.
So Friday morning we went to his graduation ceremony and then I had to go back up to Bellingham to finish up the buyback and close it out.  So proud of our little soon to be Kindergartner!
