Day with Thomas July 21st, 2012

This is an activity that I had heard about a year ago where some of our friends took their kids.  I really wanted to take Decker to see Thomas too.  So when I learned he was coming back this year, I put the date on our calendar.  Thomas the Tank Engine travels around the country visiting children all over.  In Washington, he'd stay in Snoqualmie's Northwest Museum for the weekend.  A couple of days before the event, I checked online to buy tickets and they were all sold out!  I was devastated, and thought, why didn't I just buy them earlier...We decided to go to the event anyways and see if there might be a chance that we might be able to ride on his train.  We picked up Grandma and headed out to Snoqualmie.
Thomas was coming and Decker was already putting his fingers in his ears...
 Wow!  There he is!!
When we got in line to enter the Museum...the ticket master said we could buy tickets for the 3:00 p.m. train ride.  We were thrilled!  Not so much about having to come all the way back, but we were going to ride Thomas!

Here he comes again, right past our car before we left. ;)

We went and dropped Grandma off at her house...she decided she was not going to come back with us at 3:00.  We saw this coyote in her neighborhood.
Her lavendar bush was in full bloom...Decker has a sprig of lavendar over his ear....
Then Cody tried to do the same thing with his sprig...
We took the boys home and got a short nap while daddy and I worked on getting another window in...We ended up leaving 40 minutes prior to our train ride and pretty much accepted the fact that we were going to miss our train ride.  We were so bummed as we raced to the museum.  We got to the museum right at 3:00 and we ran to the Ticket master and lucky for us...Thomas hadn't left yet!  Wow!  What a releif!  We weren't going to miss our train ride after all!  Look how happy and excited these boys are...especially Decker...

He loved waving at the people out at the train station.

Here is Snoqualmie River which we passed over!  Amazing!

When the train ride was over, we went to meet Sir Toppham Hat.  Decker was thrilled.  We put Cody right by him and he didn't bat an eyelash.  He was frozen and did not move or smile or anything.  We have about 4 pictures we took in a row and each one was the same.  so funny!

This is a track in the park where there were no dangers of any train coming down it.

Can you see little Decker's face peeking out of this engine?
Then we got to ride this little Speeder train down the track while we waited for our Thomas pictures. We rode it twice.  So fun!  I have to mention...As we got in line for our train ride, we realized Cody's sandal was missing.  So on our train we watched out the window for the sandal thinking maybe it fell off in our run to the park from our car...no luck.  So he was one shoe off, one shoe on for our little visit.
Decker got into this little bouncy gym and bounced while we waited for Thomas to come back for pictures.
And here he is!  Isn't that cool?

Afterwards, we got train tatoos on their arms...Cody got Thomas and Decker got Diesel 10.

Then they played with the train tables set up inside!  So fun!
Cody loved this little tunnel.  He'd put his train in and out, in and out.

So we left a couple of hours later and we watched for Cody's sandal.  I was holding Cody and I heard him say "shiz".  hahaha!!  He had spotted his sandal and pointed at it.  It was a combination of "There it is and shoe"!  --He has eyes like his daddy and Decker...Eagle eyes!!!  Funny thing is, I would have walked right by it if he hadn't alerted me that it was there.  Someone had found it in the parking lot and set it a top an orange cone!  Yay!  The missing shoe was found!
Walking along the train track with Daddy.

 What a fun day!
