Toothfairy is coming to our house!! April 7, 2015

We were over at Grandma Nickie's and we noticed this bump above Cody's front tooth.  I took a picture of it and sent it to his dentist and asked if this was something to be worried about...
(The tooth under it has been dead for a couple of years due to some bump he experienced.)

The dentist wrote back and said we should bring him in.  It is probably an infection and we don't want it to spread.  We'll probably pull his tooth,  so that it can drain and heal properly.
When I told Cody that the dentist was going to pull his tooth out...he was not the nervous or scared that I thought he would be.  He was so excited!!!  He was excited to put it under his pillow and have the toothfairy come and leave him a silver dollar, just like his older brother.  For me, it was a different story.  I was worried and scared and cried when the Dentist called and said they would  pul it after evaluating it.  My baby was getting his tooth  pulled prematurely.  Cody couldn't be happier though.

So we went to the dentist.  Took x-rays and concluded that they would pull it.  The dentist said he wouldn't prescribe antibiotics for the infection as it would drain and heal on it's own.

They gave him a little tooth necklace and put his tooth in it.  Cody later told me that it "hurt just a little bit."  My brave little 4 year old.
We went to the park afterwards...and he wanted to wear his necklace.  I knew it wasn't such a good idea because it doesn't close very securely.  He wanted to show his friends there....well about 5 minutes later, he said he lost it.  We had been standing on the sidewalk, so immediately started looking around.  I kept thinking this is impossible...said a quick prayer and we found it!  So I held on to it till I got home.

Taped it shut until daddy got home.  Opened it up again, and showed Decker and daddy.  Well that darn tooth got lost again!  Daddy was the hero this time and found it.  I was just hoping we could make it to bedtime so he could put it under his pillow.

Cody asked Decker to write a letter to the tooth fairy, asking him to please not take his tooth yet.  He wanted to show it to Aili and Aria.  He would be going over there the next morning.
The tooth fairy read his note and felt compassion for this little 4 year old and left his tooth and a silver dollar!
The next morning when we walked over to Miss Annie's house...in all the hustle and bustle of getting back packs ready to go and the excitement he felt about showing it off, he lost his tooth once more.  This time, I didn't have any clue where it had been lost if it was in the front yard or in the house and I told him I'm sorry, it's gone.  Such a sad face!  He could now only tell his story.  At least we got a picture of it before this happened.
