Happy Birthday Mike! 10/16/09

How do i go so many days without posting? I get so far behind and then I forget about the fun and exciting things going on.
I'm jumping back to October 16th. It's Mike's 36th birthday and his Grandma June Hancock was in town for a week visiting.
At Mike's request, we made Grandma Wood's famous Baked Spaghetti and then we made Mike's favorite cake: a cherry cobbler like cake.

It's so easy to make. You just mix 2 cans of pie filling cherries with one can of crushed pineapple, save the juice for later. Layer on the bottom of a jelly roll pan and then layer a box of white cake mix on top of the cherry mixture and then sprinkle the pineapple juice on top of the cake mix and bake for 45 minutes on 350. Eat hot with ice cream and YUMMERS...

anyways, we had that for dessert and we played a little bit of the Great Dalmuti. It's also a family favorite.
We then took pictures of everyone, one funny and one smiling.

It was sure fun having Grandma Hancock in town and we look forward to her next visit.

We are honored to announce that Michael Clark Wood has completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Management....Mom and Dad both were in attendance...Decker thinks 520 names read is a little too many when your last name is "Wood"
Once again Decker is not liking to touch a texture, this time it is Mike's gelled hair. Mom Gamble got to be in town for the event
The proud graduate!
Mike, we love you and are so Proud of you!

Seattle Boat Show

Mike's company is participating in the Seattle Boat Show this weekend at Quest Field. He's been working down there for the past week getting the stages and the boats ready for the show. As part of their stage of boats, they needed a staircase to get up into a boat and who better for the job? Mike. With his past history of working for Buchan Homes, he had the skills needed to build these stairs. It was a piece of cake. So Decker and I went down to check out the handiwork. Pretty impressive!

Then later this week, Chris, Mike's boss, told all the mechanics that instead of laying off employees, they are cutting back hours to 6 hours per day and off on Fridays. With all the school assignments and classes that Mike has to complete in order to get his degree before June, it will allow more studying time. Also, with all of the layoffs in the country and the Unemployment Rate going up, we're grateful that he still has a job. Hopefully they'll be more people buying boats in the near future.
