Cody's 15 month appointment February 10, 2012

Cody had his 15 month appointment.  He's actually 16 months.
Stats:
Weight 21 lbs 7 oz 5-10%
Height:  31 3/4 inches  50-55%
Head Circumference 18 3/4 inches 50%

When we were at the dr's office,  Decker was concerned about the shots.  He kept telling the Dr and the nurse that he wasn't getting a shot.  Then he would say that Cody's not getting a shot either.  The Dr was very matter of fact and said he might get one or two.  Anyways, Cody got two immunizations and cried.  Decker doesn't like to see Cody crying.

Cody is such a fun loving guy.  He is very playful.  If Decker is playing with his trains or cars, Cody likes to sneak up and take one of his cars and then runs.  He so wants Decker to chase him.

He takes 2 naps still.  He still doesn't sleep soundly through the night.  I will hear him wake up and cry out 1 or 2 times each night.  He will usually go back to sleep on his own, but there are some times that I'll go in there and rock him for a bit.  I do enjoy these quiet moments when he just lays on my shoulder and relaxes.

He is starting to be pickier with his eating.  Some of his favorites are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,  macaroni and cheese and hotdogs.  When he's done eating, he likes to throw whatever is left onto the floor.  So we have to beat him to it and take the tray before he does that...he likes a very clean tray. :)
He has learned to fold his arms when we pray too.  We just saw him do it one night on his own.  So sweet!

When Cody gets into our bathroom, he always goes to open the cupboard.  We have a cup full of safety covered razors.  He always will grab one and then start rubbing it on his face...just like daddy.  ;)
In my office, whenever he hears the printer going off, he runs to grab the paper off of it to give it to me.

Cody is in a biting phase.  He is so loving with Decker and will give him big hugs and I think he gets so excited that he bites him.  He has done this to me too.  When we get after him, he gives more hugs and makes sweet "ohhhh" sounds, like he's saying he's sorry.  He's got 4 molars and 8 front teeth.

He loves to wear hats.  He loves this cowboy hat and will walk around with it on.  He just melts me with his smiles.  Sometimes I feel like there is an unspoken joke between us that only he and I are in on.  We just make each other smile.

His vocabulary includes
ball-"ba:
balloon-"bvee"-kind of a vibrating sound
uh oh
choo choo-train
shoes -"shiz:
signs "Please"
Hi- with a big round mouth very long.
bye bye

Cody is a climber and not a very cautious one.  He's had more bumps and bruises than I can count.
He loves his blanket and is very possessive of it.  --I wonder who he got that from???  :)  When he sleeps with it, he likes to cover his head with it.  He will roll it up into a big ball and lay on it like a pillow when we're holding him.  He really likes it up to his face.

15 Month Check Up 10/13/09

After 2 boosters and a flu shot, Decker is happy!

HIS STATS:
Height: 31 inches (50%)
Weight: 19 lbs 14 oz (3%)
Head Circumference: 46 cm (25%)
Teeth: He has 4 molars-2 up and 2 down, making 12 teeth total.

Some of the new things Decker has learned this last month:
Decker has learned to scribble. He started doing it on my birthday at Las Margaritas. He still likes to eat the crayon though.

He's started putting the phone up to his ear when he plays.
He is pointing at everything and starting to point at objects meanfully.
His favorite book lately, is MOG the Forgettful Cat. see youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmiYnEmFILo
This is Decker sitting in his BOOK BASKET. Of course he loves to empty his basket...all over the floor. :)

Words he says: "Mama" = mama
"dad" and "da da" = daddy
"mo" and "mum"-(mix between yum and more) = more
"mana" = banana
"tak u" = thank you
"key" = monkey
"Melmo" = Elmo
"Ma" = Mog
"Kiya" and "baba" = Grandma
"shiz" = shoes
"tutu" = turtle
"blows" = hot
Uh oh is hummed in the high low fashion.
He shakes his head "yes" and "no". Sometimes appropriately and sometimes not.

He folds his arms when we say prayers.

He can sign "milk" and "more"
He blows kisses.

He runs all over the place.

His favorite things to do that we say are "bad" are: climbing on the table, banging on the TV, banging our tall lamp against the wall. All of these actions will result in a time out. We put him in time out for 1 -2 minutes and when we go back to get him, he's shaking his finger. He knows he did something that was unacceptable.

When he gets frustrated, he clenches his fists and face.

He's figured our that you slide a debit/credit card in a machine.

He loves to hug you from behind when you're down on his level doing something. He has just gotten all around more openly affectionate on his own initiative.

Funny picture to find Mike in Decker's crib....I guess it's BOY TIME.

This was a fun pudding day.
