Happy Thanksgiving!

We all gathered in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Freddi and Heather came with their families and Michael Sheffield came -he lives in Las Vegas--one of mom's cousins.  Everyone was here except Luke's family.  But I'll start from the beginning.  We left Seattle on Saturday the 19th.  We were driving in my Honda and hoped to get to Salt Lake City in one day.

We learned that Kaylie can get car sick.  I fed her a banana and a nutri-grain bar with some milk and she ended up projectile throwing up around the Tri-Cities area of our trip...about 3 hours into it.  It was a good time to stop at McDonalds and get her cleaned up and have some breakfast.  We later stopped for dinner in Boise at Chick Filet.  The kids had fun playing in the play area.
This was the first time I noticed Kaylie knows how to stack things.  She was stacking the sauces on the table.
She even got to play in the play area for a bit.  The boys liked bringing her high up to the slide and car area.
We made it to James house late Saturday night, but got up early to help Haylie take care of her horse, Jasmine.  They had to clean her stall, feed her and run her for a bit of exercise.  Kaylie was so excited to be up close to this beautiful and big animal.

Kaylie sneezed and it startled Jasmine.  Hehehe...and Aubree
There were even little chickens wandering around the yard looking for a snack.  Since Kaylie knows all her animal sounds, it's really cute to watch her try to interact with them.
There's Haylie riding Jasmine.  Afterwards we went to church with Jon and Julie.  Jade was giving a talk, and Rhett had just been baptized the day before, so he was welcomed in the ward as the newest member.  He had his new scriptures and a big smile on his face.  Breiden and Danielle were in town for the weekend as was Makaylee and Taylor.  We hung out at their house and had dinner.  The boys played Pokemon and video games with Rhett.  It was a fun day!
For our trip and added some special charms to my locket... a horse shoe, Welcome to Las Vegas sign, dice, playing cards and the cactus and family charms.
On our way to Las Vegas we stopped at Wendy's and Cody made this monstrocity of a headband.
There's the Payson temple...we take a picture of it every time we pass it, since Grandma Wood used to teach there.  We also stopped at Barnes Ammo.  Mike ordered some ammo that would come in about 4 months.
Just some sweetness...Kaylie resting her hand on Decker's cheek.
We stopped at Cove Fort.  President Hinkley's great Grandfather was commissioned to build the fort as a stopping point for the mail and travelers to rest.  Cities were generally placed about 30 miles away from each other.  It was so cold and windy, the missionaries gave the kids each a blanket to wrap up in while we went from room to room.

Here's a date on this bedspread.  The history was fascinating and to see time pieces and wonder what it might have been like...
We made it to Las Vegas on Monday night.  I helped get the tree lights all working.  Decker kept asking grandma if he could decorate the Christmas tree.  She really wanted to wait until more grandchildren were there to help.  In the end, she gave in and let Cody and Decker decorate the tree.  It was probably a good thing we got it done early before all the busy-ness of having extra people in the house.
Dad headed to the temple on Tuesday morning...looks so dapper in his suit and bow tie.
After seeing Cove Fort, we were interested in going to the Las Vegas fort where the Mormons "settled" Las Vegas.
We played some checkers in a room that the soldiers would hang out int while on duty.

Nice little stove to keep things warm.  Kaylie liked playing in the dirt.

Grandma came and Mike and Breez met us there.  Breez had been there on a field trip before.

This is the brick making station.
Here we are..doing one of the boys favorite things to do.  They love to play with Grandma's birds.  Grandma has Baby here.  I think he is her only bird right now.

They have a hard time being patient while the other is holding the bird.  They each love holding him so much!

Kaylie would go back and forth.  She'd want to touch and hold the bird and then it would be too close or it would fly over her which would freak her out a bit.
Cody our little fearless climber was on a tree in the backyard was hanging upside down and his shirt got stuck on a branch, he let go to try and fix it which he ended up crashing head first into the rocks below.  He was probably only a foot or two away from the ground, but he really got scraped and bruised up.  Poor little guy!  We got some children's tylenol and put some cold ice on his wounds to reduce the swelling.  We shown lights in his eyes to watch for dilation and everything seemed okay.
Kaylie loves her books, even if they are plastic
While mom was rummaging through her Christmas decorations in the garage, she found her wedding dress.  Leah tried it on and she could fit into it!  WOW!!!  So pretty!
On Wednesday night we went down to Treasure Island to check out the Avenger's Marvel exhibit.  Had to take a picture of the Trump Tower as he is now the President of the United States of America!
The Marvel Exhibit!  Mike G.  got several tickets for us all to go check out the Avengers.  The group picture is at the top of this post.  Heather and Corey, and Alex and kids came with us.  Abigail joined us as Adam and Amber stayed home.  Heather and Corey got to see the Mystere show at TI...so they had to rush through the exhibit so that they could get to their 9:00 showing.  They had a great time and Corey was actually called up on stage to be part of the act.  Soo cool!
 My alter ego

We each had head sets and were supposed to  complete missions in the different Super Hero room.  Here Cody is getting instruction.
 Captain America's Shield!
all the kids that came...Is this Hawkeye's motorcycle??

 The Hulk's hand is HUGE!
Ant man's ants were crawling all over the floor and then they pointed us in the right way to go.
 Creepy bad guy....frozen in time

The boys tried to lift Thor's hammer...Even they couldn't get it out of the stone

 Thor's costume
Ahhh!  Iron Man is gonna get me!
Then there was a game where we could fly like Iron Man and hit targets with only our eyes.  I didn't do so well...like 13% of my "eye" strikes actually hit their targets.  the boys did much better!

Mike getting some love from Baby Caroline...
A few of the kids playing cards.  This is what I love...all the cousins together.  And they have so many of them!!

Cheyanne and Kaylie.  This is their 2nd Thanksgiving together.  What a difference a year makes...

The great Domino train...
 Just the boys for now!
 Kaylie and Caroline.
Grandma and Grandpa with the kiddos and their tree.

We decided to leave a day early as there was a storm headed to Western Wa and we didn't want to get caught in it on this side of the pass.  So we drove back to Salt Lake on Friday.  Cody was so distressed that he wouldn't get to see Santa Claus and tell him what he wanted.  Typically we see him at the Ethel M Chocolate Factory.  I was sad we were going to miss it too.  But before we headed out of town we went to our favorite Craigs Ranch Park with all the cousins.
Lexi and Sophie playing with Kaylie.
Sophie liked getting her picture taken.

How many cousins can we fit onto 1 swing?
Jade and Cambrea even joined in the fun...
Mike G found some old popcorn treats to feed the geese and ducks..  What a picturesque setting....

One of my favorite Daddy-Daughter pictures!
 The boys just relaxing....
Kaylie was getting sleepy.  I am hoping she will sleep a lot in the car on our trip back to Salt Lake.
These cement slides are so fun!  When we first got there I decided to take a ride down with Kaylie in my lap.  We got going so fast that at the end of our ride, I couldn't stop the momentum and I went running...trying to catch myself and tripped and fell.  I managed to keep Kaylie safe, but I got some "rug burns" on my hands and arms.  I felt the soreness the next day from the impact.

We stopped at Subway for dinner in Beaver on our way back.  They weren't making soup anymore, which was what I was planning on feeding Kaylie.  So she ended up eating some cheese and ham.
We made it back to James'  safely.  We had planned to stay in Salt Lake on Saturday and see the Temple Square Christmas lights Saturday night, but with the storm coming, we ended up leaving early Saturday morning and driving back home.  We played with our Utah cousins for a bit in the morning and held their new puppy...Kaylie and Cody loved that.  They couldn't keep their hands off the pups.

While we were driving through Oregon, Decker said he wasn't feeling very good.  I gave him a plastic sack just in case that meant throw up....well it did... a few minutes later, we heard him throw up in the backseat.  He got it all in the bag.  Yay!  Pulled over and he threw up some more outside.  he felt better after that and there weren't anymore incidents.  Pulled into our driveway around 9:30 p.m. and beat the storm barely.
Grandma and Grandpa gave us our Christmas present before we left and by the time we got home the Wrapping paper was pretty shredded as our trunk was so full and we had to stuff and unpack the trunk a few times on our way back.  So we went ahead and pulled all the paper off once we got home.  There was a beautifully soft and HUGE king size blanket inside that we could all wrap ourselves up in with some popcorn to watch movies!  What a great idea!  We are so cozy!!!  We love it!
It was an adventure filled week and we loved being together with everyone!
