The night before Cody's birthday, we were busy in the kitchen baking a cake!!!
We even had a visitor come and cheer us on.
For Cody's birthday, we had Mickey Mouse waffles...Cody's request. Mike picked up these balloons the night before...
And here's his cake... For our little POWER RANGER.
Cody wanted to spend his birthday at Chuck E Cheese. He and Decker were both in heaven.
Trying to give a thumbs up with Chuck E Cheese.
Grandma and Auntie K helped him make a little football and taught him how to flick field goals.
I got into the games and brought out all my old HOOP skills out...
Then Cody came back with a huge line of tickets....had to go back to that game to win some more.
Auntie K gave Cody a big set of Avenger puzzles with it's own wooden case.
Cody invited one friend. Cameron Parker. He gave Cody a cool skeleton shirt.
Then we got beach towels--one for each boy. Decker has the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Cody got a SKYLANDERS towel.
Handsome little boy in his Tony Hawk shirt. ;)
One of Cody's wishes that he told me was that he wanted a fire in his room. When I told him that would be too dangerous. He said, I just want a fake fire...not real...
So we found this...at the Halloween Store....
Cody wrapped up in his towel.
Now it's time to blow out the candles....wish he was wearing his POWER RANGER costume..but forgot it....
For the cake, I tried to use some CoolAid for the red frosting...it didn't color the frosting any more than the food coloring, but the tangy flavor that came through was perfect and such a great addition to the cake!
After all the playing and collecting tickets, we ended up with 271 tickets!!!!
Decker got these GLOW in the DARK Vampire TEETH.
Cody got this beautiful Colorful SLINKY....and till today is still in near PERFECT form. Amazing!!
Just a couple of stories about Cody....About a month ago, Decker came into my room and woke me up about 2:00 a.m. He claimed there were spiders in his bed. We went and checked....didn't see any, so he laid in bed with me for a bit. Now he was seeing spiders in mom's bed...we turned on the lights and showed him there weren't any there...then he asked if he could sleep in Decker's bed. Put him in Decker's bed...2 minutes later, came and told me that there were spiders in Decker's bed. So I rocked him in the rocking chair for a bit. He was seeing creepy crawlies out there too. After about 2 hours of going from bed to bed. Shining his flashlight on all the wiggly arachnids he finally fell back asleep. From then on, he's been afraid of the dark. He likes to have his firelight on...which we don't leave on all night and he wants the hall light on. We've rigged the hall light, so that he can't turn it on when the other switch is in the middle. Very frustrating for him. Hopefully this is just a stage he's going through.
Another story I've been wanting to share. Earlier this year, we were out of milk. Cody and I went to the public library for some reading time for toddlers. After it was over, we left to go home. Cody said, "let's go to the grocery store and buy some milk". I said, we need to go home so I can get back to work." I told him that when I work, then I get paid money and then we can use that money to buy clothes, food and a warm house to live, so we needed to go home and get back to work." He then said, "Can we use some of my money and buy some milk then?" Sweet BOY!
