It's the first day of Kindergarten...see his Fingerspelt K's?
This is my favorite picture...
So sweet...this boy of mine....
Cody wonders when it will be his turn to wear a backpack and go to school. Decker packed his own snack for the day...Iron Man fruit snacks and pretzels.
They lined up in the hallway before school starts and Guess who is in his class? Sava! They were both happy to find each other. Sava was so excited. They were checking out each other's backpacks and shirts. Sava said, "I have a Lightning McQueen shirt". Decker said, "I'm wearing my soccer shirt." so cute!
Then Sava proceeded to tell me all about the "Planes" movie he saw in the theater. :)
Then it was time to head to class, Decker grabbed Sava's hand and off they walked to class. So sweet! (The green tags you see are bus information for the students.)
Decker then lifted Cody up off the ground to hug him and say good-bye...
So did Sava. :)
Here's Decker looking for his name on a hook to hang his back pack.
He then found his seat and immediately started writing on his paper...maybe his name.
Sava's even assigned at the same table as Decker. They all look so busy already.
After school, Cody, Auntie K and I walked down to the bus stop to meet Decker. Cody picked some flowers for us and Decker.
Here he comes...see his little head peeking out. As soon as he got off, another face peeked out the window...it was Sava's! They were seated next to each other. Decker loved riding the bus home. New experiences for this little 5 year old.
Decker told us that at school, they had a "morning meeting". All the children sat on a mat. That was all he could remember, he didn't know what they discussed at this meeting. ;)
He drew a picture of daddy and him on the boat, he colored a picture of the Cat in the Hat. He said they didn't do any math today. They read a story about a raccoon and giving a kiss on her hand. Not sure of any other details. For recess, they played Ninjas. Decker and Sava were both good guys and the trees were the bad guys. Such a fun day! I'd say it was a success!
