Road trip Part I September 25th, 2015

It was time to go pick up a new car again.  This time, we drove to Denver Colorado to pick it up and "Aunt Linda" from MBS would be driving it out.  We were a little nervous about this trip.  First one with Kaylie and 3 kids in the Backseat.  And learning early into our trip that our DVD player didn't work anymore.  hahaha!  Kaylie slept much of the trip.  We left at about 1:00 p.m and made it to Our first stop in Boise Id at the Hotel Mason around 10:00.  The kids wanted to stay in a hotel so bad, so each stop we would call it "Hotel xyz"  We had one melt down from Baby girl towards the end of our day.  She had a clean diaper, was fed, she was just wanting to be held.  We pulled over and sat in the dark for awhile.  The boys got out and watched a train go by.  She ended up liking her pacifier which saved us much of the trip.  Decker, who sat in the middle was in charge of keeping her happy.  He did an excellent job of singing to her and making sure when she spit out the pacifer that he could find it and place it back in her mouth.
The kids love playing with the Mason's kids.  They have 4 girls.  She is pregnant with her fifth, due around Thanksgiving, and they are having a BOY!  We stayed there till about 1:00 and left after lunch.  We went to a deli and hand some sandwiches with them.  At a place called Fat sandwich...which happened to be right next to a KOKO fit Club.  So I had to go in and check it out.  It turns out that the in laws of Victoria Holsclaw--the recent owner of the KOKO's that I go to, were members at this particular gym.  Small world!

This was in the Mason's bouncer for their baby boy. Kaylie liked it!

My visiting teacher gave us little bags to take on our trip to Colorado to entertain the boys.  Here are one of their creations with the Wicky Stix.

At our lunch stop at Cafe Rio.  We ate out on the lawn.
 More of the lunar eclipse.
From Boise, we went to Hotel Gamble in Herriman UT.  Rylee has been in the MTC for the past week.  MaKaylee is missing him and Rylee writes nothing but good things about her and his family!  Funny how being apart from the goodness of family makes you realize how good you actually have it.  :)
Here's Cambrea
and Arrika

And Jon...
The girls held Kaylie and were so good with her.

Decker and Cody played with Rhett.  They played Skylanders on the Wii.  They were thrilled!  On Sunday, we went to Sacrament meeting with them.  It was their primary program, it was fun to see the kids do their parts.  After Sacrament, they had a farewell they were attending, so we said our goodbyes and we started on our trip to Loveland--Aunt and Uncle Kim's.
We ended up taking the long way around on I 70 instead of through Wyoming.  I was pretty mad at myself for mapping it out the way we did.  We ended up getting to Hotel Hancock around 11:00 p.m.  It was the night of the LUNAR Eclipse, so we got some pretty cool pictures of it.  We were lucky that we had clear skies and got to watch it as it was covered by the earth's shadow and then uncovered.  About a 3 hour process.

This is Scott's room and where we slept for the night.  They boys were excited about the bunk beds and we made a little bed for Kaylie on the floor.

They had a cool little water fountain in their back yard.
Since we got there so late, we missed seeing some of the family. Craig and his family had to go home.  Stacy and Dan were visiting with their baby Samuel, born August 13th.  Dan's job was moving him from Minnesota back to Colorado--which everyone is thrilled about, since their family is there.  Here's Kaylie and Samuel.

So this is what it's like with Twins...

Since we were at Hotel Hancock, the boys got to go in the HOT TUB!  They were so excited about that!

This is the space downstairs.  Kim made these shadow boxes of grandparents.

And here's Aunt Kim with her newest grand baby.
Dan and Stacy are so happy to have their little Miracle baby Samuel.  They've waited FIVE years for this day to come.  ;)
Their backyard.

As we got ready to leave...around 2:00, they got ready to leave...this was a House Hunting trip for them...they were going to go out and check out some neighborhoods.
Some of us wore our Seahawks shirts...since they are Bronco fans!  :)

Then we made our way down to Denver to pick up the new car.
There's Aunt Linda.  She was visiting her grandkids.  Some of them wanted to stow away in our car and go on a trip with us.

We talked for a bit and the kids played together.
There's the ROCKY MOUNTAINS we were going to cross...
We drove to Richfield UT and got to the Marriott Hotel where we stayed the night.  We arrived around midnight and went right to sleep.  The next morning, we had a good breakfast and then swam in the pool and hot tub till we left at about noon.

We went into the exercise room at the hotel and found a friend.

Here's  a sweet picture of Kaylie holding on to Decker's arm as we drove for hours in the car.

We stopped in Elsinore UT, where Grandma Markie grew up

Her old house.  Kaylie's first time here.

We went over to the cemetery.  Mike talked to Aunt Angela while we were there and happened to find out that Great Aunt Joyce had passed away 2 days earlier.  (Markie's sister)  We thought what a special coincidence that we were at Joyce's parents graves at that moment.

We found this cool turtle grave site.

Cool Antler gravestone.
These are just some interesting gravestones we came across.

Now we were on our way to Hotel Gamble in Las Vegas.  We decided we couldn't not go and visit when we were so close...only 3 hours away.  This was at a gas station in St George.

Some of the scenery we saw.

Finally made it to Grandma and Grandpa's around 5:30 p.m.  We met Nya Eulalia, born a couple of weeks before Kaylie

Grandma found these matching dresses for the girls

They kept tipping over. :)

There's that smile!

Sophie holding her baby sister.  Sophie is going to be 5 soon, just like Cody.

And Here's Breez...she is 8 now!

Here's Elliot
The kids had a project they were working on while I was there.  Grandma had scored some big boxes.  She gave them chalk and crayons and let them build houses out in the backyard coloring them.  I overheard Elliott say to Decker once, "Let's hurry up and work on this box, before the girls come out."
My dad and Leah...
Me and Nya
More to come in Part II of our road trip.
