This summer we scored an Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Mal costume at a garage sale, so that sparked this years theme. I thought about what we had on hand, we had lots of light sabers that the boys have loved playing with over the years and we had some angel costumes the boys wore when Kaylie was Baby Jesus in 2015 for the Christmas party. I thought I could sew the one Cody wore to fit Kaylie and I could wear the white sheet I wore as Mary and we could make up a costume for Dad's Han Solo costume. Here was the first time we tried the dress on for size. I think it will work. ;)
Mike and I ran to Target and had some fun trying on different masks. ;)Our Ward's Halloween/ Fall Festival was on the 28th. We ended up getting a Darth Vader costume off Craigslist for Decker, so that ended our search for costumes. Mike found an off white shirt and pair of pants that we glued red stripes to (from another pair of pants that we cut up and a pair of leather pants that we cut up to make his boots. Used a vest that we had in the closet and we were ready. I had some bobby pins that my mom gave me probably 30 years ago that came in handy when doing my cinamon roll buns...believe it or not, but I've never put my hair in a bun before and used bobby pins. I had to google YOUTUBE videos on how to do Princess Leia hair. :) I love how in this picture Darth Vader is taking the mini Princess Leia away.
Kaylie was all lovey dovey with Han Solo. She just wanted to hug him. It was a sweet candid moment.
Bre had her little baby girl and she showed me she was wearing the Halloween onesie that Cody wore when he was born. Yay..so happy to see it used again. Too sweet!
Bobby & Christian Niccum were characters from Frozen! It was awesome!
Savannah and Brinley Howell's cute costumes...
Good vs Evil
Bobby & Christian Too cute!
Kind of makes up for not making it to a pumpkin patch this year...October flew by!
After our ward Party where I made a White chili recipe for the first time. I used a recipe posted by the pioneer woman. It turned out pretty good...a little spicy and I only put 1 jalapeno in it. We were a little late...so it didn't make it in time for the chili cook off. We brought some salsa too.
We then went to Auntie K's ward party at a barn. Kaylie likes this little baby!
She was afraid of Big Hero 6. She took off her costume head so Kaylie could see it was a person inside.
Happy Halloween! Her braids didn't make it through the night.
We made little Halloween character jars. Decker made a cat, Kaylie made a pumpkin--lost his smiling face-- and Cody made a Frankenstein.
Here's our cooked pumpkin....
On Halloween, I went to Decker and Cody's school and helped out with their classroom parties. I went back and forth. Decker wore a skeleton costume for his. They had gift bags to color, treats to snack on, games to play.
There's Owen in the green Football jersey.
Decker and the Poop emoji and his teacher the pink Unicorn.
Cody's class made lollipop ghosts...
Here's Wesley with his ghosts.
They played Bingo and Cody won a prize--he chose Cherry flavored wax lips that you chew for the flavor and then toss.
Here are a couple of other STAR WARS characters in his class.
Then on Halloween night, we dressed up one last time and went to our neighbor's Susans house where she had treat bags made up for the kids. She gave each of them a little Halloween snow globe, Steve and Laurie's house and then up to Auntie K's neighborhood where we trick or treated.
It was an awesome Halloween to go down in the books!
