All week I was in Bellingham working at Western WA University. I got to come home on Thursday night so I could attend Decker's Preschool graduation on Friday morning. In addition to that we had our friends, the Wyndams visit from Idaho. The Schmalles came over too and we had hot dogs and burgers for dinner. We had 5 boys and baby girl Olivia over. The kids were in heaven.
Here the kids are walking to the classroom where the graduation ceremony would be held.
We saw this cute little car in the school parking lot.
Our little boy has grown up this past year.
This is Stephany from Decker's class. She was excited to see Decker and gave him a hug...too cute. Decker just let her.
Two classes were in attendance, Afternoon and Morning Preschool.
They sang some of the songs they learned over the year...
They even sang the ABC song and signed the letters to it.
Then Mrs. Franzwa called each of the children one at a time and get their Graduation certificate.
The parents made these collage pictures for each of the teachers, including pictures of the children.
Decker is the one with the red shirt in a grassy field.
Then they served cake and ice cream..It was enjoyed by all...
Decker and Miss Shirley
Miss Shirley and Mrs. Franzwa...a final farewell...
Back to the BBQ party from the night before, (Thursday)...Dress up time...We've got two Batmans.
You might have noticed a white bandage on the back of Decker's head at the Preschool graduation...During our BBQ party with the Schmalles and Wyndams, the 5 boys were all playing together on the trampoline...we're not sure what quite happened, if Decker fell off or he tried jumping off, but he hit his head on something and so to make things a little more exciting, we went off to the emergency room at 11:00 at night. Decker did not want anyone to look at his head or touch it for that matter...he was very sensitive to his injury. He was anxious about getting any shots and was very aware of any tool the doctor brought out.
They put a topical to get ready for the real shot and stitches. They then wrapped the topical filled bandage to hold it in place while it took effect.
She was the nurse.
Then we waited for it to numb the area and get the real shot.
We read the Highlight magazine in the room to keep him distracted.
Even after the numbness was working, he was still anxious, so the Dr asked if we could give him gas...it would make him HAPPY and not care about what was going on. So we did. Then we put him in this fun Looney Toons gown and they cleaned his head to get ready for the stitches.
They squirted it with water to make sure there wasn't any debris in there.
Here's our HAPPY boy.
Then, when we left, they gave him a little teddy bear with a band-aid on the back of his head....just like Decker's. Decker named him Decker and had him dancing around and doing flips. :)
We finally got home around 2:30 and went to bed.
So Friday morning we went to his graduation ceremony and then I had to go back up to Bellingham to finish up the buyback and close it out. So proud of our little soon to be Kindergartner!
