Decker has always been a good napper and sleeper. He still takes 2 naps a day and lately has been sleeping a good 11 hours at night. Once in awhile he'll wake up in the middle of the night and whimper just enough to wake me up, but we stopped going and getting him. He's very good about self soothing and falling back to sleep on his own.
New foods this month
Cupcakes, cake, ice cream and MILK !!! There are others, but these take precedence.
Decker's teeth: 4 on top, 4 on the bottom
- He loves his little teeth and all they can do. Like a little BEAVER, he has gnawed off several of the little cushion stoppers that are inside cupboards and drawers to soften the closing of the doors or drawers.
- He loves to come up and surprise you by biting your toes. Or if you're hugging him, he'll nibble on your shoulder too.
- That's not all…his little biting habit has caused me to wean him. It's not real cute when he bites and then smiles up at me. The weaning has gone by very smoothly. I think he was ready, because there haven't been any complaints. We've started him on milk in his sippy cup and is getting used to it. It is probably harder on me than him. However, when he wakes in the morning and is still groggy and hasn't eaten in 11 hours, he will nurse peacefully and contentedly….no biting. We'll see how long that lasts. It's my last one to let go. Recognizable Baby Babblings
Decker can say momma and dadda, doggy, cupcake, banana and he can shake his head "no". He is starting to copy and mimic things that Mike and I do and say. It is exciting to see him processing and learning all these new skills!

Fun new things from this month
He likes to play Patty Cake, he surprised me with the clapping and pointing to himself when we said who the cake was for. When we were talking about cakes and cupcakes around his birthday, he would start "Patty caking"
We like to play Ring around the Rosie. Falling down is always the best part!
He is a little adventurer. He learned how to open the front door and actually got out! I wanted to get this on film, so I left through the front door and ran around to the back with my camera in hand and watched him struggle to get the door open to follow mommy. In this case, he got the handle down, but didn't quite pull it open enough to get out.
He is still a climber. He is climbing up on the piano, the couches, the coffee table. He uses his toys to gain height. It's a lot more trouble keeping him safe these days. And we thought our home was baby proofed!
One of the most interesting climbs he did this month was right out of bed one Sunday morning. SPLAT!
On the ground and crying, he crawled to our bedroom. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt badly. Hopefully he learned his lesson. Needless to say, we pulled all of his toys out of his crib that he could use to climb on.
He learned how to "Arch and Slide". When he no longer wants to be in your lap, he just grabs your fingers, arches his back and slides right off to the floor. It's very effective
